Those familiar with unipivots will know how fiddly setup is. Lateral balance, so that the arm body is level, is usually achieved by
tilting the counterweight. This relies on friction to stay in place, but it can, and does, slip. I got so fed up with this and other
stability issues, I stopped using my Hadcock
.

The Mayware is similar. Type F4 places the combined Centre of Gravity within a few mm of the stylus plane, unlike the original
counterweight where this is about 10mm above. A lower CG will reduce vector forces, improving tracking.
Type NF4 uses the XTC counterweight which is lacquered brass, with an aluminium collar and stainless steel set screw.
The adjuster is slid along the stub for balance and tracking and locked.
Rotate the counterweight, which has an offset C of G, as required, to adjust cartridge azimuth, and lock. Finally, adjust the
transverse balance screw to fine tune the cartridge azimuth. That's it. Everything is locked in place and won't move.

Some more feedback for other unipivot variants of XTC:

Nice workmanship, responsive seller, clear improvement on original. (type GHV - Hadcock GH228)
Ton, Netherlands.
Fitted this today, definite improvement, azimuth adjustment is now a doddle, sound quality much improved (type GHV - Hadcock GH228)
Stephen, UKTried out the counterweight last night. Amazing improvement over the stock CW in every way. Most noticeably, as they say so
often, a veil is lifted. Everything is less tentative. Bass coming through more solid, percussions have the final "ring" of the
real things, more depth and soundstage anchored more accurately. These are all preliminary impressions after a few hours
of listening. I have no hesitation recommending your CW to Hadcock owners if these prelim impressions hold up & I think
they will.
