Artist#Engraver: JAROSLAV VODRAZHKA Czech — Vodrážka (1894–1984) was a professional Czech painter with a long activity and an etcher who worked as a teacher in the Graphic School in Prague District Smichov. He appears be a typical representative of the Czech art and especially a  graphic art of this country. Born in Prague District Karlin he began his first artistic training in the Middle Art School for Applied Arts in Prague (1913–1919), where his art teacher was one of the famous Czech artists František Kysela, then Vodrážka continued his studies at the art academy under the direction of Max Švabinsky. Vodrážka dealt with all the techniques of graphic art and with book illustration. He has also done various diplomas, ex libris, posters and illustrated books for children. But he has devoted his creative powers to etchings.
