This is a brand new multi-fit aerial antenna that can be mounted externally on the windscreen pillar ('A' post) or on a panel. It is a suitable replacement for many existing aerials that may have been fitted by the vehicle manufacturer, coach builder or conversion company, or for new installation on many Horsebox Motor-homes and Camper-vans. Ideal for Horsebox conversions and 'A' Class conversions and cabs/vans with over-cab beds or coachwork where aerial mounting possibilities are restricted. It can often be located on the "A" pillar between the windscreen/wind-shield and side window, or on a front panel or side panel.
Suitable
for both Right and Left hand drive vehicles.
The fitting
is universal as the upper mounting point is adjustable along the length of
bottom telescopic section.
The telescopic mast is three-section, with quality chrome plating, with a fully extended length of 1.18 metres (46”), to ensure good AM/FM radio reception. The lower fixing has a chrome finish plastic cover with open mounting hole for ease of installation. Retracted length of the mast is 45 cm (18").
The aerial
is supplied complete a 117 cm coax cable (46 inches) fitted with a conventional
aerial jack plug and all required fixtures and fittings including sealing
gaskets. Please check coax cable route to identify if an extension lead to the radio is required. Extension leads are listed in our shop category;
On new installations please check for suitable access behind the mounting surface and that inside the panel/pillar is free of obstructions. Mounting requires one mounting hole of approximately 8.5 mm for the coax cable and 2 mounting holes of approximately 3 mm diameter. (1 for the upper mounting point and 1 for the lower fitting). When fitted the mast section is positioned about 15 mm from and normally running parallel to the mounting surface so some slight curvature of the mounting surface is possible.
