Antique Handmade Gaziantep Kurdish Rug

The Gaziantep region has a documented past in excess of 6000 years. A region with such an ancient, diversified history enriched by the cultures of a motley procession of inhabitants produces lovely kilims and carpets. 

This is a 50 year old Tradition Kurdish Prayer Rug design from the Gaziantep region in SouthEastern Anatolia. This was made for an individual person and is an original item, not a commercial reproduction. It features a single Mehrap with tradition symbols of abundance and faith. A richly colored carpet in saffron and reds, handmade with natural dyes. It is double knotted wool on wool.

In Fine Condition with no reweavings or signs of wear, discoloration. There is some wear to the fringe, but it is intact.
