Up for sale is a beautiful vintage beverage pitcher (10" tall, 5" diameter, 9.50" spout to handle, 64 oz) with applied handle and ice guard spout designed by Dorothy Thorpe using her sterling silver 1/2" band.

“The silver on glass design was created in the 1940's and 1950's. These pieces are from that era.
Dorothy would buy quality glass from manufacturers such as, Heisy, Cambridge, Fostoria and others. She then created her own designs on the glass.
She was one of the pioneers in California Modernism. Her designs are ultra modern with exquisite designs, which translates into pure elegance.
Her pieces have become highly collectable, with the sterling silver on glass being the most popular.”

Her pieces are absolutely gorgeous and will adapt to most décor because of their uncomplicated designs using the most precious materials of clear or frosted crystal and sterling silver for their composition.

It is in very nice condition with age related wear (may have minor silver loss).

Although we polish to look for flaws, it can always use more. SW 1-C
