"This preminum line of cookware features quality tri-ply or "clad" construction for superior performance, durability, and a lifetime of enjoyment for novice or experienced chefs. An additional stainless steel capped-aluminum disc is added to the cookware to create an encapsulated base. This technology consists of aluminum layers fused between inner and outer sheets of stainless steel. While stainless steel is ideal for the bodies of cookware, it's not the best conductor of heat. Thus the need for better a heat conductor like aluminum. Therefore, this layered construction distributes the heat evenly throughout the pan."
