The "sacred tree" has become popular also thanks to its significant participation in Ayahuasca (pronounced ayalaska) ceremonies.Palo Santo is rich in the oxygenating terpenes of the brain: limonene and terpineol, which gives it invigorating and beneficial qualities. Palo Santo wood harvesting is strictly regulated by the Peruvian government. First of all, you must not cut down growing trees. You can only collect fallen branches, which should additionally dry for about 3-5 years. Only then can chemical reactions occur in them, during which the sap that used to flow in the living tree begins to crystallize and form deposits, giving Palo Santo the color of orange and gold.

A more typical and effective way is setting fire to a piece of wood for several seconds, blowing out the flame and enjoying the smoke flowing from the tip. This method releases essential oils and wood properties. It is a wonderful, cleansing and relaxing experience. It may accompany other rituals.
