Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America in the tropical forests of Peru. Its name from Spanish means "sacred tree". Since the times of the Inca Empire, it has been used by local shamans for spiritual cleansing, ritual prayers, and ceremonies, and it has a significant place in native ritual medicine. It is valued for its metaphysical cleansing properties of negative energy. The "sacred tree" has become popular also thanks to its significant participation in Ayahuasca (pronounced ayalaska) ceremonies.
Palo Santo is rich in the oxygenating terpenes of the brain: limonene and terpineol, which gives it invigorating and beneficial qualities. It has a unique fragrance that has many followers. It is a combination of sweet rose-resin notes, mint and citrus. Although probably each of the smelters will describe them a little differently.

Palo Santo wood harvesting is strictly regulated by the Peruvian government. First of all, you must not cut down growing trees. You can only collect fallen branches, which should additionally dry for about 3-5 years. Only then can chemical reactions occur in them, during which the sap that used to flow in the living tree begins to crystallize and form deposits, giving Palo Santo the color of orange and gold.
