This is a fabulous antique French curtain dating to the 1870s; I love the STUNNING, romantic floral print in pinks and reds against that beautiful deep black ground! The ground tone of this medium weight cotton curtain is a beautiful black and the other colors in the large scale rose print include a deep purple, raspberry red, soft shades of pink, a fawn beige, khaki and light sandy tone! This curtain still has the original metal rings handstitched to the top! It would be gorgeous to use as a curtain again, or could be deconstructed for pillows, light upholstery, a set of curtains, or so many other wonderful sewing projects!

MEASUREMENTS: This lovely textile measures approximately 16 inches wide by 91 inches long

CONDITION: This fabric has been left in as-found condition for collectors, but could be hand washed and hung to dry! This curtain was made from two panels plus has another added piece for width along one side, so there are two seams running the length of the piece (see photos for details). The top is hemmed with a beautiful handstitched seam; most of the metal curtain rings are still attached, but one is missing. The selvage is intact on one side. The bottom is hemmed, but one corner has a little tear and the hem is coming undone a bit. When held to the light, there are a few very tiny scattered holes in this piece. This textile is in lovely time-touched condition, ideal for any period interior!
