Antique Set of Scottish Victorian Glazed Ceramic Carpet Balls Circa 1860-1890. This set contains 8 bowling balls and one white (cue) ball. One set of four is stripes or plaid and the other 4 are solid or star. The balls all have wear consistent with age and play. This indoor game was first played in the late 1700's in Scotland, usually during winter but became very popular in Britain in the 19th century.
