1857 Large Cent, small date, PCGS VF 35.  Rich brown color and even wear on this specimen of the final year of minting large cents of pure copper, before the mint switched to Flying Eagle small cents of copper-nickel later in the same year, changing U.S. minting in this way, forever.  For a VF35, this coin is remarkably free of problems, and understandably, was saved rather than circulated much as the changes in cents were implemented and the large cent was destined to disappear from use.  They say that serious coin collecting started then, with this awareness.  We are pleased to have secured this fine example, a bit underestimated as a VF-35, for your acquisition.  Shipped with signature tracking for your added assurance.
