This gaspeite comes from one of the few locations in the world where this rare nickel carbonate is found. When thick and solid enough, gaspeite is always in high demand as a gemstone due to its unique color. The Australian outback was the greatest source for this mineral, but now the source is mined out.
This is a very good large cabinet specimen of pistachio green gaspeite veins in matrix. This piece could certainly yield many slabs and cabs, but it is also a lovely specimen of a truly rare mineral.
