1986 was a closely fought season with the Williams-Honda FW11s of Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet leading most laps and winning 9 races but Alain Prost in the McLaren-TAG Porsche MP4/2B took the drivers? title when Mansell burst a tyre when leading the last race at Adelaide.

Williams easily won the Constuctors? Championship with McLaren second and Lotus third. The MCM artwork depicts Alain Prost?s McLaren- TAG Porsche MP4/2C sandwiched between Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet in the Williams-Honda FW11s.
