Tempered in a special Waspman oil quenching furnace to 40-42 HRC to get that extra tensile strength so that it can take extra jerks and dont break.

Can be used easily at L/d ratio of 4 , that means the boring bar will give chatter free finish upto 40mm in the bore if the correct grade of insert and feeds and speed are used.
