## I have been a small private seller on eBay for the past nine
years seeking good homes for my spares or surplus stamps.
As of 3 March 2019 eBay reduced the
monthly free listings allowance by two-thirds & increased the final value
fees. The effect of these changes has been to force me to reconsider my pricing
policy. In future sets will be grouped into offers, the majority of which, will
now range from £1.29 to £4.99. As of June 2021, payment is normally by
eBay direct,
******** now have an eBay shop “TOPCAT STAMPS” which specialises in
GB; Channel Islands; Ilse of Man; Australia; Canada; New Zealand; Bahamas;
Gibraltar; Malta; Ascension; BAT; Falklands; St Helena; Tristan da Cunha &
South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands. If you cannot find the
item(s) you seek in my shop always e-mail me & I will be pleased to check
my stocks for you.
******** eBay has revised the
Buyer Guarantee as of 30 September 2020 which means sellers are at greater risk
of loosing out twice; once if the item is “lost” and again when surcharged by
eBay to refund the Buyer. Accordingly, I have been forced to apply tracked
shipping for packets valued £10.00 & over as from 30 September 2020.
*********Items that have been on offer for 10 days or more are often
reduced & these bargains are denoted in the item description as RP1 to RP12
with each RP unit representing a 50pence reduction in the Selling Start Price.
*********For items valued under £10.00,shipping by standard 2nd Class
post is at the Buyers risk. .For items over £10.00 Signed For with tracking as
recommended by eBay is applied at extra cost. Overseas buyers please note that
shipping charges are based on both size & weight. Larger heavier items are
unlikely to ship as an airmail letter & may be classed as a small parcel
Shipping by standard airmail is at the buyers risk, & limited to
destinations in Western Europe.
*********UK postal rates increased by approx. 8% from 4 April 2022.
I have therefore been forced to increase my shipping charges both for inland
& overseas shipments. In all cases, the stamps or sheets offered are
similar to or the same as those in the photographs but may not be the exact
same items. The offer is for stamps & the presence of borders baring
Printers notations or of interesting postmarks is purely coincidental &
does not form part of the offer unless expressly
stated in the item
description. eBay & Pay Pal now levy commission on the shipping
charges, which has to be reflected in the rates I charge. Having experienced a
number of reports of “lost” shipments, I have decided to apply tracking to
purchases of £10.00 or more for both inland & overseas Buyers.
********* indicative inland shipping charges (without
tracking)from 4 April 2022; DL letter under 5mm thickness is £1.10. Large
letter is £1.40, three or more items is £1.75 with six or more items being
£2.40 & a Small 2nd Class Parel up to 2 kilos is £3.95.
Inland shipping charges with tracking or Signed For Service( items of £10.00)
are £2.55, £2.95, £3.70, £3.95 &£5.80 respectively. Overseas shipping
charges based on standard international postage (without tracking) are £3.55 or
£5.30(for large items). Overseas shipping with international tracked service
for items over £10.00 is £8.70 or £12.00(for larger items). Consolidated
shipping can only be applied before payment.
********* I will only ship to other overseas
destinations if the Buyer pays for International Tracked service irrespective
of the value of the items.
The practice of consolidating shipping
charges for two or more items will continue.
**********In view of the ongoing health emergency I have decided to
restrict my visits to my local post office which can mean a small delay in
delivery for which I apologise in
advance..
