The latest iteration of the Amal Premier 928 Concentric carburetor features an aluminum alloy body, reducing weight and increasing heat dissipation.
The 928/17AL carburetor has a 28mm bore diameter and is set up specifically for the single-carburetor BSA A65T models with a 3.5 slide cutaway, 230 main jet, and .106 needle jet. This carburetor can also be used on the BSA B25 and Triumph TR25W models with minor jetting changes.
The correctly specified carburetor provides a fuel and air mixture to promote combustion in the cylinder head of the engine. The carburetor is operated by a cable, and generally an air filter is fitted.
The carburetor is fitted to an aluminum manifold with a sealing o-ring installed into the groove cut into the mounting flange of the carburetor body. Care should be taken to avoid overtightening the manifold nuts, which can contribute to distortion of the carburetor mixing chamber.
