The Daihi-ju Daihishin-darani (Great Perfection of Heart Dharani) is
It is an 82-phrase dharani (a type of Buddhist incantation) that explains the merits of the thousand-armed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Darani Darani means "to remember and not to forget," and refers to the teachings and manners that Buddhist practitioners should memorize.
Dharani dharani is to be memorized and recited repeatedly in order to eliminate all distractions and to attain a state of detachment from thoughts and feelings.
It is a historical and traditional belief that by chanting, copying, and memorizing it, various divine powers and spiritual experiences are manifested.
It is widely recited mainly in Zen Buddhism, and is recorded in the "Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara Dahidarani Sutra.
In Greater China, it is the most popular Buddhist scripture along with the Heart Sutra and the Six-Syllable Shingon.
