For use on adding glitter to a painted or wallpapered surface etc to make the surface sparkle while retaining the original look and colour and not for creating a thick glitter finish. Multiple coats can be applied to make a much more dense coverage but not made for a pure glitter look. Please view our other listing if you want a thick glitter finish with mixed grade glitter.

Note: Coverage depends upon surface, surface absorption rate, base colour if complimentary, application tools and technique. Follow instruction sheet provided carefully and or label!

Iridescent White, Ice White, Rainbow White are for use on white, or very pale walls, ceilings or furniture only as they are semi-translucent. They bring the white colour out into a beautiful sparkling finish and are a crystal white glitter. If you build the coats up they bring out their own white effect within themselves and more depth.

Features:

Want to make your wall glisten and sparkle like diamonds? Then why not use our clear dry glitter glaze to transform your wall, ceiling or furniture into a beautiful glistening  surface while still retaining the original colour or effect.

If we do not have the colour you desire then why not design your own combination by choosing our custom colour option and sending us over a message of what you would like.

Application:

What You Need:

Please make sure surfaces are dust free, grease free and not damp before applying glitter paint.

Note: Do a small test patch with the glaze on a small area to get used to the technique of applying and how it spreads on your surface.

Note: Pour amount to be used into a roller paint tray to stop settling of glitter particles.

  1. Please thoroughly stir the contents of the tub as the particles may have settled during transportation and storage.

  2. Always keep the lid on the glaze when not in use.

  3. Start by masking off areas you do not want the glaze to get on and adding a dust sheet to your floor as glitter glaze can be messy!

  4. We advice on using a foam roller (used for glossing) to apply this glaze for light coverage on walls and wallpaper where you still want to see the wall colour below, brushes are not adequate. Use soft pile brushes only for edges of walls or around sockets or switches etc if the roller cannot reach these areas.

  5. Load your paint tray up with glitter glaze and roller your roller into the mix to coat all sides evenly, make sure you do not have blobs or to much excess in areas. If you do just keep rolling it around until all even. Do not worry about glitter collecting on the tray as this can be removed back into the mix easily or caught back up on the roller with firm pressure.

  6. Start to roller the glitter on your wall applying very light pressure at first going in various directions out from the middle outward in a larger patch area to spread the glitter around evenly. Keep running backward and forward in various directions from left to right, up and down and diagonal to spread the glitter particles as wide as possible and to create an even coat.

  7. NEVER GO IN STRAIGHT LINES!

  8. Apply your next criss-cross patch further along joining into the previous to even the first coat out.

  9. Allow to dry for 1 – 2 hours, crank up the heating!

  10. Once the first coat is dry or 80% dry you can apply your second coat if needed. If you only want to add a glitter shimmer to a pre-existing painted surface, wallpapered or glitter papered wall then you can stop here or add a partial second coat as needed. If you apply another coat then follow instructions 5-9 again.

  11. Always allow 1 – 2 hours to dry per coat.

  12. Full cure is 4 – 6 hours at room temperature.

  13. Any glitter collected on the paint tray can be scooped back up with a spoon and put back into the glaze mixture and stirred back in for re-use.

Note: If your glitter rolls on the surface and starts to patch up in areas, simply apply more pressure and concentrate on them areas rolling your roller around in various directions to push the glitter away and disperse them more evenly into the rest of the applied surface. Really spread it into the whole patch you have applied and parts of previous patches to make the coat as even as you can.
