Item Description
An original decorative gargoyle from the walls of the Cavern Club, Liverpool. This was one of several which were displayed in the Cavern while it was under the ownership of Roy Adams between 1969 and 1973. The green gargoyle is made of moulded fibreglass with red perspex eyes and mouth holes. The gargoyle is from the estate of Roy Adams. The gargoyle measures approximately 73.5cm x 62cm (29 inches x 24.5 inches) at the widest points. There are two 1.5cm (0.5 inch) holes in each ear of the gargoyle, which presumably resulted from fixing the decoration to the wall. General wear, minor chips and fading are present at various places. There is a chip to the right ear and the right side of the mouth. The condition of the gargoyle is good.
