Yoshie Itani, Tokyo University of the Arts Global Support Center Specially Appointed Professor. In 1979 she graduated from the Department of French Studies, Faculty of Letters, Kwansei Gakuin University. She was a master's student (aesthetics) in 1998 at the Graduate School of Letters, Kwansei Gakuin University. In 2000 she was her Master's M.A. (Distinction) at SOAS University of London Graduate School. She received her PhD in 2006 at the Orient Institute, Oxford University. She then returns to Japan and teaches at several colleges. Her specialty is the history of arts and crafts, especially the history of modern export crafts (this data was published at the time this book was published).
