Fiskars 45mm Rotary Cutter
The Fiskars Easy Change Ergo Control Rotary Cutter features a unique design that makes it easier than ever to change the blade without sacrificing cutting performance. A magnet built into the blade housing lets you remove the dull blade and quickly add a fresh blade. This also simplifies assembly so you don’t have to remember the order of washers and nuts. Other innovations include a slim design that offers right- and left-handed users a clear line of sight, a precision-ground blade with titanium coating for lasting sharpness, a blade guard that retracts when you squeeze the trigger, a thumb lock to lock the blade open for continuous use or closed for safety and a longer, more comfortable ergonomic Softgrip handle to help reduce hand fatigue while cutting.

Blade Size
- Rotary Cutters come in lots of styles and sizes. The most common sizes of blades are 18mm, 28mm, 45mm, and 60mm. The larger the blade size, the more layers of fabric you can cut, and the faster you can cut it. If you know you'll be cutting yards and yards of fabric, you'll want to choose a 60mm rotary cutter. An 18mm rotary cutter is used mainly for making small cuts, or for cutting curves.
If you want to have one rotary cutter that will be sufficient for nearly all projects, you’re best to pick the 45mm size. This is large enough to do a lot of cutting, but still manageable when you're trying to do more intricate work.
Latches
- All rotary cutters has a latch that moves back and forth to allow the blade to expose and /br>retract. Some might be difficult to manage if you have carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, or another condition that results in weakened hands and wrists. If you are afflicted, I recommend using one which you can latch open, then cut as opposed to squeezing to reveal the blade, and having to squeeze and cut. With regards to handles, it’s a matter of personal preference.
