A fishing zip slider is a type of terminal tackle used to create running ledger rigs, particularly for sea fishing. It's a small, plastic device that slides freely along your fishing line, allowing you to attach a weight or lead clip at one end and your hook bait at the other. This setup has several advantages:

      • Reduced tangles: The slider keeps the weight and rig separate from the main line, minimizing the risk of snags and knots.
      • Improved bait presentation: The weight runs freely along the line, allowing your bait to move more naturally and look more attractive to fish.
      • Versatility: Zip sliders can be used with a variety of rigs and baits, making them a handy tool for any sea angler.
      • Designed to make changing weights easy and  to allow fish to take your bait without feeling the weight of the sinker.
      • T-shaped sliders: These are the most common type, with a T-shaped body that slides easily along the line. They often have a clip or eye at the bottom for attaching the weight, and a swivel at the top for attaching the rig.
      • Barrel sliders: These sliders have a cylindrical body with a hole running through the center. They are threaded onto the line and can be used with a variety of clips and attachments.
      • Boom sliders: These sliders are designed for use with boom rigs, which are short lengths of line with a weight and hook at the end. They have a larger body and a stronger clip to handle the weight of the boom.
      • When choosing a fishing zip slider, consider the size and weight of the fish you are targeting, the type of rig you are using, and the fishing conditions. For example, if you are fishing for small fish in calm conditions, you can use a small, lightweight slider. But if you are fishing for large fish in rough conditions, you will need a larger, stronger slider.
      • Here are some tips for using fishing zip sliders:

      • Thread the slider onto your line before tying your rig.
      • Use a knot that will not slip or come undone under pressure.
      • Make sure the weight clip is securely attached to the slider.
      • Test the rig before casting it out to make sure everything is working properly.
      • I hope this helps!
