Ebonite is a solid product of vulcanization of natural or synthetic rubber with large amounts of sulfur.  It lends itself well to mechanical processing, gas-tight, resistant to acids and alkalis.

Applications: as an insulating material and for the production of handles, chess pieces and various parts.

It is possible to work with ebonite in temperature ranges from minus 50 degrees Celsius to plus 60 degrees Celsius.
