Mr. Hüseyin Kocabas acquired the statuette twenty years ago. Although the statuette was said to have been brought fromn the vicinity of Malatya, at that time it was not possible to pinpoint the exact location. I have to offer my thanks to Mr. Hüseyin Kocabas who has given me permission and help in the publication of the statuette (Cf. Plate XXX). -Wikipedia: Tahsin Özgüç (1916–2005) was an eminent Turkish field archaeologist. The careers of Tahsin Özgüç and his wife, Nimet Özgüç, began after World War II and lasted for nearly 60 years. He was said to be the doyen of Anatolian archaeology.
