The Binh Thuan Shipwreck 1608: Ming Dynasty porcelain, Wanli period [1573 to 1620] auctioned by Christie's in Melbourne on 1 & 2 March 2004. The wreck was first discovered in early 2001 by local fisherman off the coast of Binh Thuan Province in Vietnam, when their trawl net became entangled in wreckage.Divers were sent down to free the net. A bounty more valuable than a few hauls of fish was then discovered. The "Swatow" porcelain from Zhangzhou in Southern China was on route to Johore on the Malay Peninsular. Dutch East India Company [VOC] records state that it was most likely the Junk belonging to Chinese merchant I Sin Ho that was lost in the area in 1608.
