Bottom line introduction: Cheng Shouzhen (1858-1939), also known as Chen Shouzhen, is a Taoist from Bingxin, a native of Yixing from Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China. He is a hardworking and prolific purple clay pot master, who learned from his adoptive father Shao Youting and is good at making simple pots. The works are rough with lasting appeal and skilled. The "Duoqiu pot" is the most famous one. The pot is made of three large, medium and small balls, so it is called Duoqiu pot. Its shape is mainly composed of beautiful arcs, with smooth lines and extremely comfortable visual sense. The whole pot is stable and plump. The pot won the gold medal in Panama International Competition and Chicago Expo in 1915, and was famous at that time.
