| BOOK CONDITION |

The original dustjacket is present and in good condition. The top and bottom edges show signs of shelf wear, with some heavy creasing and bumping and a small 1cm closed tear to the back. There is some minor chipping and loss to the top and tail of spine and flap corners. The jacket is lightly soiled and sunned as expected for this 96 year old title. The back flap states ‘117th Thousand’ and spine shows a price of ‘7/6 net’ indicating this is the true 1st edition 1st impression jacket. It is now housed in a protective maylar sleeve.

The original green hardback boards feature titles in gold gilt to the spine and a decorative gold gilt illustration of Christopher Robin & Pooh to the front. The boards are in VG+ condition - bright, clean and sharp with only minor pushing to the top and tail of spine and a small crease to the top left hand corner of the front board.

The spine is straight and the binding is tight.

Internally, the text block is clean and free from any previous owners marks or inscriptions. The top page edges are gold gilted. The illustrated map endpapers show signs of age browning and some pages show minor signs of finger print smudging (see images of most affected pages). There is minor creasing to the top right hand corner of page 13/14.

Overall the book is in very good plus condition and would make a great addition to any A.A Milne collection. It will surely continue to appreciate in value in the lead up to the 100th year anniversary in 2026.
