THE JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN IRISH HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Volume IX [9].

Providence, RI: Self-Published, 1910. Thick blue cloth hardcover general rubbing to edges and extremities, ex-library with paper remains of removed spine label, well bound, covers firmly attached, text unmarked, generally clean pages. 588 pp, with Index. Good Plus. Hardcover.

PROVENANCE: Former institutional library copy -- large plate affixed to the front paste-down page with emblem: "This Book Was Presented to the Royal United Service Institution by" then hand-written: "Lt. Col. W. A. J. O’Meara CMG late RE;" stamp dated May 10, 1922. On the facing fly leaf is handwritten "Compliments of John B. O'Meara [1892-1977, Missouri];" this appears to be O'Meara's signature, but I am not certain. One of several photographic plates in this volume includes O'Meara. No other institutional markings in the book.

The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI), sometimes still referred to by its pre-2004 name, the Royal United Service Institution, is a British defence and security think tank. It was founded in 1831 by the Duke of Wellington, Sir Arthur Wellesley.
