Valleriite is an uncommon, complex sulfide hydroxide. It is very soft and has a bronze color similar to pyrrhotite. Valleriite occurs in unmistakable platy formations that also help distinguish it from other copper sulfides.
The specimen we offer is a very good miniature example of this rare mineral with massive valleriite and iridescent bornite also. The matrix is massive magnetite.
