This is a rare oversized advertising postcard promoting the Original Australian production of the ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER musical hit "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA" at the Theatre Royal in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. (The Original Australian production premiered on December 7th, 1990 at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne, Victoria where it played through June 5th, 1993. The Sydney engagement opened July 24th, 1993 and closed in April 1995.) ..... The Melbourne production starred twenty-six year-old ANTHONY WARLOW (who had auditioned for the role of "Raoul", but became the youngest actor ever to play the starring role of the "Phantom") and MARINA PRIOR as "Christine". When the show transferred to Sydney, ROB GUEST (shown in the postcard's photo) replaced Warlow with MARINA PRIOR repeating as "Christine".
