It works automatically with all radios, with the IC 720A radio series and similar by installing a connection cable between the radio and the tuner, it changes the band automatically, otherwise you have to change the band with the front selector by removing it from the auto position.  The chord is easily pre-set on the affected bands with the internal preset selectors.
