This beautiful amber bottle with “SB&GCO” in an arch on base is one of the earliest variations of the Streator Bottle and Glass Company, produced from 1885-1890.
Only
the earliest bottles from that period had applied finishes, SB&GCO in an arch on the base, and the
mold number in the center of the base; the mold numbers from that period were
from 1-19, and this bottle’s base is mold number 7. Later bottles have a horizontal SB&GCO
with the mold number below the horizontal logo.
It is a
remarkable example of the earliest Streator bottles, free of cracks or chips, and
in very good condition.
