Harry Sternberg (1904 – ?) was a pupil of George Bridgeman and Harry Wickey at the Art Student’s League. He worked for the Graphic Arts Division of the WPA Federal Art Project in New York City as a supervisor. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship for creative work in etching and lithography and taught both at the Art Student’s League from 1933-1967. He also taught at the New School of Social Research before joining the Art Student’s League. His work has been shown at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Whitney Museum of American Art and the National Academy of Design. In addition, his work was included in the Fifty Modern Prints exhibit in 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1938. He relocated to California in 1967.

PM magazine was the leading voice of the U. S. Graphic Arts Industry from its inception in 1934 to its end in 1942 (then called AD). As a publication produced by and for professionals, it spotlighted cutting-edge production technology and the highest possible quality reproduction techniques (from engraving to plates). PM and A-D also championed the Modern movement by showcasing work from the vanguard of the European Avant-Garde well before this type of work was known to a wide audience.
