"Impact 4 - The Army Air Forces' Confidential Picture History of World War" - Hardcover (8-3/4" x 11") - Published in 1982 by Historical Times, Inc. - 254 pages (with numerous black & white photos) - NEAR MINT condition.  During World War II, the United States Army Air Forces published a monthly magazine titled Impact which was distributed only to select military personnel, and was not available to the general public because of the sensitive military information contained in each issue.  There was the following disclaimer on the cover of each issue, "U.S. CONFIDENTIAL - BRITISH CONFIDENTIAL - This document contains information affecting the national defense of the United States within the meaning of the Espionage Act, 50 U.S.C. 31 and 32, as amended.  Its transmission or the revelation of its contents in any manner to an unauthorized person is prohibited by law."  On the contents page of each issue each article was signified as unclassified, restricted, or confidential.  Years after the end of the war, the contents of Impact was totally declassified, thus paving the way for the publication of this book.  Because of the nature of the articles contained within the covers of this scarce military only magazine, it's quite likely that you will be exposed to info about World War II not previously made available.  Impact 4 offers two esssays by high ranking World War II military personnel:  "USAAF Plans and Strategic Effects" by Major General Haywood S. Hansell, Jr., USAAF (Ret.) and "The Benefits and Conditions of Surprise Attack" by Lieutenant General Minoru Genda, Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (Ret.), a fabulous picture portfolio, Great Captains of Air War, and reprints four 1944 issues of Impact Magazine.  Again, this book is in NEAR MINT condition.  No collection of books on World War II is complete without this one. Check out the scan for the great cover and so you can judge the condition for yourself (unlike many other booksellers, who post generic scans, the book in my scan is the one you will get).  You can try to buy this book for less money from one of those eBay booksellers with hundreds, if not thousands of negatives (you know the ones I refer to) and be lucky if the book is delivered to you in the stated condition (if you even get it at all), or you can buy it from me and be assured of a prompt delivery and of receiving a quality item true to the condition indicated.
