GALVANIZED STEEL INSULATED ICE BOX CHEST BEVERAGE BEER COOLER 🧰 TOOLBOX ANTIQUE
Up for your consideration is this Very RARE (and unbelievably sturdy) Antique Ice Chest / Beverage Cooler. This cooler was most likely made between the 1930's and 1940's and features heavy gauge galvanized steel shell with an unknown insulation material between the walls. It was painted a dark brown with possibly a tan primer underneath, much of which has been chipped or scratched off. It has a snap locking buckle on the front which works well. The top has a 3/8" diameter steel swivel handle which seems sturdy enough to carry the box - even if it was filled with rocks. The box itself is solid and the hinges are securely mounted. There is a thick foam rubber bead in the top - it was somewhat stuck to the rim of the bottom because it was closed for probably a couple decades - but once it opened it didn't stick anymore. Overall it is in very "sturdy" although somewhat rough cosmetic shape. This would make a great addition to a vintage diorama scene - or a great movie prop - or a "tough-as nails" antique ice chest on the fishing boat.
