Manual Aerial Ball Top Fitting Mercedes VW Vauxhall

This is a multi-fit, non amplified, manual aerial (pull-up & push-down) with an 18mm diameter “ball top” or “button-in” top type fitting. It is designed to fit a model specific rubber grommet type seal. This design of manually retractable telescopic aerial was normally factory fitted on the rear wing of cars (& front wing of V Class vans) manufactured from the early 1980’s, and the fitting method was widely used by; Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Vauxhall on aerials supplied by Bosch, Calearo, Harada, Hirschmann, and most other European OE aerial suppliers.

This industry standard was adopted as it allowed the aerial to be quickly friction fitted by pushing into the rubber grommet on the wing panel, and was used on both manual and electric (motorised) aerials and power antennas, so this manual aerial will replace a damaged electric aerial. It ensured speed of assembly on the production line, whilst achieving a good water-tight seal, and secure installation.
