Wow! What a fantastic find! This is a wedding ensemble, dating right around 1900! This is a two piece set, consisting of a lovely long skirt and a matching bodice. This piece is well worn, and was perhaps worn for more than just a wedding. It is a beautiful white silk, or silk satin, and the bodice has quite a bit of embellishment on it. The detail on the collar and sleeves of the bodice is known as cord work - truly beautiful. The skirt closes with a hook and eye, and the bodice closures have since been removed. Take a look at the photographs - this piece truly speaks for itself! There are some condition concerns, see condition details for more info. This is an amazing find, a wonderful piece of fashion history! Great for study or as design inspiration! ~

MEASUREMENTS: this lovely antique Wedding set measures:
BODICE:
Chest: 28 inches
Waist: 22 inches
Shoulder: 12 inches
Sleeve: 24 inches
Length: 20 inches

SKIRT:
Waist: 26 inches
Length: 40 inches in front, 51 inches in back

CONDITION : This lovely dress is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This set has been worn and loved! This set does have some tea staining, and other stains. This bodice did once have boning, but all that remains is one bone in its casing hanging on by a thread. As mentioned above, the bodice closures are missing - closures still remain around the neck but are no longer in place on the torso section. Truly an incredible set, with signs of time and use often inherent in these amazing textiles.
