Boromir’s sword was large, wide and powerful with one hand, a complement to its owner. To use it required someone with great strength, which this skilled warrior possessed in abundance.
The flattened diamond shape of the blade and the fullest reduced weight equally wide, but retained the force at the end of the blade by stopping just before the tip. The guard, similar to that of his father’s sword, showed the flourishing of a warrior in the sense that it formed from a piece of square-edged steel that had twisted before bending into a crescent. The handle was wide as the blade, and the knob was an elegant and simple piece of steel that added weight to balance the blade.
