The Ashbringer is the sword of scarlet Crusade’s former Highlord Mograine. The blade was named after Mograine and his astonishing ability to turn the undead into nothing but a burst of ashes. Mograine was betrayed and killed by his son, Renault, with the sword. It has recently been discovered that Mograine was reincarnated as Death Knight by the lich Kel’Thuzad, and still possesses Ashbringer, although he has been desecrated for his murder and transformed into corrupt Ashbringer.
