Thanks to its pristine sound and durability, the DPA d:fine 4088 has for years been the cardioid headset mic of choice for the broadcast industry, as well as for Broadway and London West End theater productions. The 4088's cardioid polar pattern and slightly longer boom arm enable corner-of-mouth placement for superior rejection of ambient sound. The latest-generation 4088 has been upgraded with CORE amplifier technology for a 14dB increase in both dynamic range and total harmonic distortion. The d:fine CORE 4088 headset mic is a flexible miniature microphone solution that features quick and easy adjustment connection and adjustment. DPA's headband construction is unique in design because it gives you a choice between left and/or right mounting and also color change. It is also possible to use the miniature microphone boom separately in applications where the headband is not needed.

Comfortable and humidity-resistant

With the d:fine CORE 4088-F, DPA has paid particular attention to humidity issues that often occur in theatrical applications and to the lightweight construction of the headband itself. A double-vent protection system and a drop stopper on the tube, together with water-resistant materials inside the microphone, make it more than difficult for the humidity to cause the microphone to fail. The headband surface is matte-gold-plated and headband earhooks are encased in a silicon hose.

Integrates smoothly into your setup

The sensitivity is 6mV/Pa to match the level of the human voice to the general input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters. The noise floor of the 4088-F is 26dB(A) ref: 20µPa (max. 28dB(A)) and if powered correctly the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 144dB SPL before clipping occurs. A wide range of connection adapters makes it possible to use the 4088-F with most of the professional wireless systems on the market, as well as 48V phantom XLR connections. Whether used in film or theater applications, the 4088-F clearly captures wildly fluctuating SPLs with one bodyworn mic.
