Vintage Sterling Silver Filigree Black Background Brooch Marked with 2 Acorns 1"

Here is a great mystery to solve for antique and vintage jewelry lovers. This oval brooch features sterling silver filigree over a matte black background. The back of the pin is well constructed with an old hinge style pin that extends past the closure. Best of all is the maker's mark, which appears to be an oak leaf with two acorns. It may be Vincenz Carl Dub from Austria, but he typically had the similar leaf and one acorn. If it is VCD, that would make this an exquisite antique, as he was in operation from 1867-1922.

  • Estimated time period 1920s
