Description: Tanzania is a country with an extremely varied musical culture which, alongside its numerous sounds shaped by influences from around the world, has managed to keep most of its traditions intact and nowhere more so than on island of Zanzibar. Zanzibar is the birthplace of the Imani Ngoma Troupe, a six-piece ensemble who present here a sampling of the astonishing richness of their musical heritage and one of the few existing recordings of the African music of Zanzibar, which is mostly known for its Taarab style of music, and will appeal to the many fans of African music in general. Bape also contains a video track you can play in your computer featuring music and dances of the island of Zanzibar.
