C – 4941. Vintage 4 x 6 Continental postcard.
The Haast River Bridge completed in 1964 is the first bridge in New Zealand to
be equipped with automatic scour recorders on its piles. From the Internet: “Haast
River Bridge is one lane bridge over the Haast River on the West Coast of
New Zealand's South Island. It's one of the most spectacular bridges in the
world. This one lane bridge is 737 m long and it has two passing bays. The
bridge carries the State Highway 6.” CONDITION: Unused; never mailed. “Jayne”
is marked on the back side.
