SEE pictures.  Could not get the siren to work... could not find the manual. Clean and unused battery compartment. Takes nine C batteries. Unsure of battery life while in use. This device is great for the following; power failures, emergencies, road trips/rving, camping, boating, and cabins. Only used in the backyard once. This is about an 8 pound ship with packaging. Nice!
