In addition to the Hellboy Universe, there is now also the Outerverse, created by Mike Mignola & his literary collaborator, Chris Golden.  While this parallel reality could theoretically be merged with the Hellboy-verse, since the characters are similar & engage in the same sort of Manichean struggles against occult evil, the alternate-history aspect of the Outerverse prevents amalgamation... eg; in Mignola & Golden's 'Baltimore' series of graphic-novels, the First World War is brought to an early end by a plague of Vampirism... yay!  Everyone was very pleased about THAT!  There is a Golem knocking around somewhere in the Outerverse too, but we don't meet him until later & anyway, he is only interested in killing wicked Witches... whereas Lord Henry Baltimore is definitely more of an Olde-School Vampire Hunter.  (Though he does, sometimes, kill Witches too...)

In this fifth volume of Lord Baltimore's chronicles, with his arch-enemy the mysterious 'Haigus' seemingly defeated, he takes time off from the Vampire-hunting to go & sort out a witch... the Witch of Harju, in fact.  Harju is a village in Estonia.  No longer a one-man band (with one leg) Baltimore has recruited a modest amount of like-minded followers to provide support & logistics for his monster-fighting activities.  Henry Baltimore finds the Harju Witch to be a troublesome opponent, but at least he encounters a personable young lady named Sofia Valk, whom he meets whilst she is fleeing her murderous zombie-husband.  Sofia joins the team; destined to inherit Baltimore's mantle of Vampire-Slayer & step into his shoes.  Er... shoe.

Meanwhile; ruthless Inquisitor Judge Duvic has turned into a Werewolf... now who didn't see that one coming?!  But Duvic isn't going to let something like a severe case of lycanthropy prevent him from carrying out his Inquisitorial Duties... & torturing people... groan!
