*  The notation on the other photos reads: Moscow Oct. 9-18, 1985 / Mendeleyev 75th Anniversary / Noe p. 379 / Oct. 12, 1995 /              Kutcharo Museum (?).
*  Mendeleyev refers to the Russian chemist (1834-1907) who established the periodic tables.
*  Pauel Sorkison is a name I could not find in an internet search.

This book comes from the estate of Douglas C. Neckers, a chemistry professor at Bowling Green State University, Ohio, known internationally.  Likely these are his personal photos from a research trip.
