Artists and Engravers: Made by Mathias de Sallieth after own design. Mathias de Sallieth (1749 - 1791): Czech etcher/engraver of etchings, stipple engravings and aquatint. Publisher and artist. Born in Prague, died in Rotterdam. He worked in Vienna, Paris, Schoonderloo and Rotterdam. He was a student of J.E. Mansfeld in Vienna and Jacques Philippe Le Bas in Paris. He worked for F. Samsom.

Subject: Antique print, untitled. A wig maker powdering a wig just outside his store in Middelburg (Zeeland province, the Netherlands).
Condition: Good, given age. Edges reinforced on the rear. Ghosting from previous matting outside the platemark. Stains from tape in the bottom left and right margin corners. A dampstain in the right margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
