Antique Ornate Brass Balance Scales with Wheat Sheaf Shaped Finial (Large Pans)

These are an antique c1880's-1890's ornate brass balance scales with wheat sheaf shaped finial. These are in excellent condition and are in full working order. They have a very ornate design to their appearance with a filigree patterned, brass base and wheat sheaf finial to the top. The weighing pans have a good depth and diameter for weighing an array of items. The pans are suspended from the balance arm at each end with three chains. These are intact and in excellent condition. The scales stand tall with a balance arm to the top. The balance arm is intact and in excellent order. The base of the scales has a lion's foot at each corner, which balances the scale to stand as it is a very tall set. Through time the brass has acquired a strong patina, which enhances the appearance of the scales. These are very decorative as well as functional.
