1945 Mexico gold 2 1/2 Pesos (restrike), authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC at MS-67.  Having stocked historical Mexican silver 8 Reales and pesos, we are honored to branch out to selling Mexican gold at such a gem plus plus! BU grade.  These 2.5 Peso and the smaller 2 Peso coins matched their gold content with the value of the peso at the time, though for just about all nations this would change.

The portrait is of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, leader of Mexican independence in the 1820s period and is known as the father of the nation.  1945 is an auspicious year to mint and then continue restrikes of the 2 1/2 and 2 peso coins.  The next year would begin a continuance to the present day of civilian instead of military leaders as executive presidents of the nation.  Mexico, a World War II member of the Allies, had thousands of nationals enlist in the U.S. military, conducted its own anti-submarine offensives against Axis boats in the Caribbean Sea, and deployed the Escuadron 201 flying P-47s in the Pacific War.  This small coin could embody for you all of these points of honor, or be a gold treasure; it can be both.  Enjoy!  Shipped with signature tracking for your assurance.
