Description: Original antique print published by Probst ca. 1760. The view is not numered and it's format is unusual as compared to optical views published by Probst. It is therefore assumed that this is possibly a very early optical view by Probst, or possibly a reduced version of large format view published by Jeremias Wolff. Very rare view.
Artists and Engravers: Made by 'C.G. et P.S.C.M.' after an anonymous artist. Publisher: Georg Balthasar Probst (1732 - 1801) was a German artist, engraver and publisher in Augsburg, a major European publishing center in the 17th and 18th centuries. He produced architectural views of places around the world, including vues d'optique, which were published in various places during the last half of the 18th century, including Paris, Augsburg and London.
