The family is getting ready to say their goodbyes as the two sons pack their belongings and get ready to leave for boarding school. The older son, clearly a seasoned student, exudes confidence and almost appears eager to return to school and see his friends. On the other hand, the younger son is making his first trip away from home, and his mother is fighting back tears in an attempt to console him. His two sisters, particularly the younger one, make an effort to console him as well, with the younger one presenting him with a cake and an apple basket as farewell gifts.
Presented with its original early 19th century wood and stucco frame, will be shipped without glass. Can also be shipped unframed and rolled into a tube to reduce cost. Price of artwork will not be reduced, only shipping costs will be recalculated.

La famille se prépare à faire ses adieux alors que les deux fils font leurs valises et se préparent à partir pour l'internat. Le fils aîné, clairement un élève chevronné, respire la confiance et semble presque impatient de retourner à l'école et de voir ses amis. D'un autre côté, le fils cadet effectue son premier voyage loin de chez lui et sa mère retient ses larmes pour tenter de le consoler. Ses deux sœurs, en particulier la plus jeune, s'efforcent également de le consoler, la plus jeune lui offrant un gâteau et un panier de pommes en guise de cadeaux d'adieu.
Présenté avec son cadre d'origine en bois et stuc du début du XIXe siècle, sera expédié sans verre. Peut également être expédié sans cadre et roulé dans un tube pour réduire les coûts. Le prix des oeuvres ne sera pas réduit, seuls les frais de port seront recalculés.
